7 Peaks promo video: Mt. Buffalo

As part of our Domestique 7 Peaks Series last summer, a handful of riders were good enough to give up an afternoon to take part in a promo video that Tourism North East was shooting to promote the 7 Peaks Alpine Ascent Challenge and more specifically Mt. Buffalo.

The finished video has now been released and you can see it below:

Thanks to everyone that took the time to help out with the video. And to the rest of you, we hope this inspires you to get out and join us this summer for some great climbing!

  1. Do you have a description of the Mountain Reservoir Road Myponga (South Australia) climb which is king of Mountain of Stage 4 of 2014 Tour Down Under?

    1. Hi Graeme, been awhile since I have ridden up that climb but its nothing to be feared. You can find the Strava link here: http://app.strava.com/segments/875434

It has some steep pitches but not a long climb. If you’re riding the community challenge and are comfortable with those distances, your fitness will be good enough to make it up.

Take care once you get to the top and begin to descend towards the reservoir wall, there is a rough road, tight bend combo which will get a little hairy with thousands of cyclists of varying abilities. Cross winds can also be pretty wild across that ridge line until you descend back down to the coastline.

  2. I loved it. Fantastic cinematography; brought back many fond memories of the Alpine Classic. Thank you for reminding us that it’s about the journey to the top; an achievement, rather than simply being the fastest.
