On the penultimate day of the Tour of Australia the riders head for the hills west of Sydney. The climbs aren't particularly long, but they are steep, particularly the last one out of Jenolan Caves. The second ITT in the Tour of Australia comes 18 stages into the race and the day after arguably the hardest stage. With barely any flat sections, this 41km ITT course is sure to sort the GC contenders from the rest of the field. Read more “Tour of Australia: stage 18”

With stage 17 of the Tour of Australia the riders are well and truly getting to the business end of the race. It's a stage that features 6 tough climbs and it's arguably the hardest day of the race. Read more “Tour of Australia: stage 17”

On the first day back after the final rest day, the riders in the Tour of Australia head west over the Great Dividing Range before heading north to the nation's capital. Despite the early, tough climb, it's hard to see this stage ending with anything other than a bunch sprint. Read more “Tour of Australia: stage 15”

On the final day before the second rest day the riders head down from the Perisher ski resort all the way out to the NSW coast. It's a largely downhill stage, obviously, but even without a categorised climb to speak of, the riders will still clock up nearly 2,000m of climbing before reaching the finish. After a largely flat run into Albury the day before, stage 13 of the Tour of Australia heads back into the hills. And not just any hills, the lower slopes of Australia's highest mountain: Mt. Koscuisko. Read more “Tour of Australia: stage 13”

Our fictional Tour of Australia is more than halfway through now and on stage 12 the riders get their first taste of NSW roads. It's a mainly flat stage but a couple of short climbs towards the end might spice things up. Read more “Tour of Australia: stage 12”

The Tour of Australia is heating up with the riders currently in the Victorian Alps. On stage 11 they'll tackle one of the hardest days of the race, a route very similar to the popular 3 Peaks Challenge. Read more “Tour of Australia: stage 11”

On the previous stage of the Tour of Australia the riders took on a couple of climbs on their way to a flat finish in Bairnsdale. On stage 10 they head north along the Great Alpine Road from Bairnsdale to Omeo with some climbing along the way. Read more “Tour of Australia: stage 10”

After a well-earned rest day the riders in the Tour of Australia will take on a mostly flat stage 9 from Traralgon to Bairnsdale. It's almost certain to be a stage for the sprinters ... assuming they can get over the sizeable climb near the start. Read more “Tour of Australia: stage 9”
